Due to the way this course was designed, with a large portion of the holes playing into a prevailing wind, it plays longer than the yardage indicates. The condition of the greens is excellent, and water hazards (two ponds) come into play on four holes, including #11, a 178-yard, par 3, requiring a carry over a body of water. The 5705-yard men's tee also has a ladies course rating of 72.1 and slope of 120. Banquet room, and bar with good practice facilities. The wide open nature of
the course is gradually changing as trees mature and new trees are added
(100 new trees were planted this past fall). Parkview's real defense,
though, is its greens - there are few straight putts to be found and
multi-levels demand good approach placement.
Centerpointe is a relaxing and cheap golf course to play. Don't be discouraged by their reasonable prices, it is a well maintained course. The back 9 holes offer quite a challenge, with 4 holes playing into waterhazards. To compensate for the demanding back 9, the front 9 holes gradually prepare you. The open fairways and lack of surrounding woods/trees allow for a very forgiving, but tricky golf experience.
